Our food pantry is only possible due to volunteers from our community. We welcome individuals and groups in helping us achieve our goal to end hunger in Greene County. Our volunteers generally arrive between 8:30-9:00am on days that our pantry is open (Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Product Stocking/Delivery: Great hands-on volunteer experience for both groups and individual volunteers. You will sort, inspect and package food and groceries donated to the Greene County Food Pantry. We also assist clients carrying product to their cars. This volunteer opportunity is not appropriate for those who cannot do moderate lifting (5-35 lbs.) or stand for prolonged periods.
Office: Low-impact task but no less valuable! You will help with administrative office tasks like greeting clients, filing, mailings, etc. You will help our dedicated staff by giving them much needed administrative support. This volunteer opportunity is not suitable for large groups.
Reception Area: Greeting and checking in clients, making sure clients sign applications and passing out slips for next month’s pick-up.
Sorters: Responsible for recording weight, sorting and checking the expiration date on donated food. Placing items in the proper area. Some lifting required.
Baggers: Responsible for filling bags with food for distribution. Also, Meat baggers will fill bags with frozen meat on Mondays and Fridays. Some lifting required.
Drivers: Substitute drivers for Mondays and Fridays from 8:30-10:30. Drive box truck to Publix to pick up meat and deliver to food pantry. No CDL required.
Corporate Support: We are looking for volunteers to coordinate volunteers, assist with coordinating food drives, publicity, grant writing, fundraising and driving our truck locally.
